Roberta Roberts

Raytown, Mo. — Services for Roberta “Bobby” Roberts, 83, of Raytown, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Christ United Methodist Church in Independence, Mo. Burial will be in the Floral Hills Cemetery in Raytown.
Mrs. Roberts died Monday, Oct. 5, 2009, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Mo., after suffering a stroke following heart surgery.
She was born May 25, 1926, in Independence, Mo., the daughter of Brittie and Robert McBride. She graduated from William Chrisman High School in Independence.
Mrs. Roberts was a homemaker. She had previously worked at the John A. Sea Title Company in Independence.
She had been a member of Sweet Adelines, Watson Memorial Methodist Church and Christ United Methodist Church. She also was involved in Cub Scouts, Missouri ARC and Special Olympics.
She married Lewis E. Roberts on June 23, 1951, in Independence, Mo. He survives, of the home.
Other survivors include two daughters, Barbara Thompson, Independence, Mo., and Kathy Eginoire and husband Steve, Leawood, Kan.; four sons, Rob Roberts and wife Susan, Eudora, Kan., Donald Roberts and wife Mary, Kansas City, Mo., Charlie Roberts, Independence, Mo., and Chris Roberts, of the home; 11 grandchildren, Sean Thompson, Andy Thompson, Jamey Thompson, Jessica Staub, Stephen Eginoire, Hannah Eginoire, Austin Roberts, Todd Roberts, Donnie Roberts, Andrew Roberts and Jacob Roberts; and five great-grandchildren, Phoenix, Noah and Isaac Thompson, and Benjamin and Sophia Thompson; a brother, William McBride and wife Judy, Kansas City, Mo.; a sister, Jennyvee Martin, Taunton, Mass.; and two brothers-in-law, Charles Braden and Robert Yendes.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Marianne Yendes, Virginia Braden, Corrine Forlow and Georgie Johnson.
The family will meet friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Funeral Home in Raytown.
