Dale Wayne Caruthers
A graveside memorial service for Dale W. Caruthers will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Oakwood Cemetery in Baldwin City.
Mr. Caruthers died Sept. 30, 2007, and donated his body to the Kansas University Medical Center for research.
Mr. Caruthers was born in 1926. He served in the Navy in World War II.
He was a volunteer fireman for the city of Baldwin City for more than 30 years and was a member of the American Legion Post No. 228.
Mr. Caruthers owned and operated Dale’s Grocery in Baldwin City and also worked for the Baldwin school district.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara, of the home; a daughter, Joyce Septer, Spottsville, Ky.; two sons, Doug and Randy, both of Baldwin City; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
