Kay Frances Beech 1937 - 2009 Chanute
Chanute — Funeral services for Kay Frances Beech, 72, Chanute, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Ambassador Christian Church, 4001 Johnson Road, Chanute. Burial will follow in Shaw Cemetery.
Mrs. Beech died Friday, Oct. 2, 2009, at the Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 14, 1937, in rural Erie, the daughter of William K. and Nadine Yockey Whitworth. She graduated from Chanute High School in the Class of 1955.
Mrs. Beech worked as a secretary/receptionist for Chanute Fertilizer and GEO Churchill. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and KU basketball.
She was united in marriage to Max L. Beech on Aug. 20, 1955, in Chanute. They just celebrated 54 years together. He survives, of the home.
Other survivors include her parents, William K. and Nadine Whitworth, of Chanute; two daughters, Cheri Berg and husband Dale, Lawrence, and Shelly Beech, Lenexa; three grandchildren, Sgt. Matthew A. Berg, Sarah Berg and Isaac Beech; and a brother, Yancy Whitworth and wife Sue, Overland Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel in Chanute.
