Delphine J. Weidensaul

A memorial service for Delphine J. Weidensaul, 81, Lawrence, will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church. Private family inurnment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Weidensaul died Friday, Oct. 2, 2009, at St. Francis Health Care Facility in Topeka.
She was born Aug. 14, 1928, in Lawrence, the daughter of Herman and Ethel May Vitt Bohnsack.
She was a 1946 graduate of Eudora High School. She received her bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from Kansas University in 1950.
Mrs. Weidensaul was a homemaker and a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a life member of KU Alumni Association.
She married Herbert H. Weidensaul on Dec. 24, 1950, in Shoshone, Wyo. He survives, of the home.
Other survivors include two daughters, Jane Weidensaul Buxton and husband Scot, Lawrence, and Nancy Weidensaul Spangler and husband John, Leawood; a twin sister, Delta Raley, Lawrence; and four grandchildren, Sarah and Brett Buxton and Jack and Rob Spangler.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Arlene Davies and Doris Jameson.
The family will greet friends before and after the service. There will be a Celebration of Life reception following the service at the American Legion.
The family suggests memorials to the United Way of Douglas County Endowment Fund or St. Francis Health Center, Topeka, sent in care of the Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th St., Lawrence, KS 66044.
