Marjorie V. Enos 1912 - 2009 Oskaloosa
Oskaloosa — A gathering to remember Marjorie V. Enos, 96, will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday at Barnett-Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, 820 Liberty St., Oskaloosa. A family graveside service will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Newman.
Mrs. Enos died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital’s hospice unit.
She was born Nov. 29, 1912, in Topeka, the daughter of John W. and Emily Bissell Newell. She graduated from Topeka High School and earned an elementary teaching certificate from Emporia State University.
Mrs. Enos married Allen Mason Enos on Aug. 7, 1932, and moved to the farm northwest of Perry where she resided for 76 years. He died March 28, 1995, after nearly 63 years of marriage.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Franklin, Norman, and John; a sister, Janet Spriggs; and a son, Zimri Allen Enos, on June 3, 2008.
Survivors include three daughters, Emily Pechefsky, Brooklyn, N.Y., Virginia Richards, Perry, and Mary Sue Layton, Lawrence; three sons, Paul and wife Carol, Lawrence, Newell, Salem, Ore., and Randall and partner Doug Milne, Middletown, N.Y.; 13 grandchildren, Rebecca and David Pechefsky, Curt, Mischa, Kevin and Heather Enos, Zack and Zane Richards, Casey, Ryan and Erika Enos, Kristen Pearson and Justin Enos; and 11 great-grandchildren, Tehmina and Shirin Pechefsky, Ronan Enos, Elias and Nathaniel Martin, Ryan and Maia Wohlert, Nolan Enos, Malaku, Adey and Kaleo Pearson.
The family suggests memorials to Jefferson County Home Health, Jefferson County Humane Society, National Parkinson’s Disease Association or American Pancreatic Cancer Association, sent in care of Barnett-Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, P.O. Box 416, Oskaloosa, KS 66066.
