Clyde B. Umscheid 1941 - 2009 Perry
Services for Clyde B. Umscheid, 67, Perry, will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Perry. Cremation will follow. Private burial with honors conducted by the Wildlife and Parks Honor Guard will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, north of Perry, at a later date.
Mr. Umscheid died Friday, Nov. 27, 2009, at his home.
He was born Dec. 13, 1941, in Flush, the son of Anthony C. “Tony” and Elsie Cochran Umscheid. He graduated from Flush High School. He was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Perry.
Mr. Umscheid was a district supervisor for Kansas Wildlife and Parks Law Enforcement Division, retiring in 2006. He had been the Perry Chief of Police and had also worked for the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Department.
He married Leona “Vicki” Petersen on Feb. 9, 1968, in Miami, Okla. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, Brent, Perry; two daughters, Carolyn Cammarato, Chapel Hill, N.C., and Stacey Weil, Edna; a stepson, Garry Wells, Lecompton; a brother, Carrol, Topeka; and nine grandchildren.
The family will meet friends after the service.
