Louis C. Dornberger 1939 - 2009 Clearview City
McLouth — Memorial services for Louis C. Dornberger, 70, Clearview City, will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Church of the Nazarene in McLouth. Inurnment with military services will be in McLouth Cemetery.
Mr. Dornberger died Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009, at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan.
He was born Jan. 1, 1939 in Manchester, the son of Chester and Ruby Moyer Dornberger.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and continued his service for 22 years. After retiring from the Army, he worked at Packer Plastics for eight years and also for McElhaney Fence Company.
He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars De Soto Post 6654. He enjoyed restoring Ford Mustangs and growing roses, as well as spending time with his grandchildren and watching his daughter show horses.
He married Anne Nowak on Dec. 13, 1975, in Abilene. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include his daughter, Lea Huber and husband Jon, of De Soto; a son, Staff Sgt. Paul Dornberger and wife Diana, of Hoisington; two adopted daughters, DeLinda Sims, Kilgore, Texas, and Kelly Baumberger and husband Rod, Wichita; an adopted son, Darrell Elliott, Flower Mound, Texas; one brother, John, Salina; a sister, Edna Raab, Abilene; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
