Margaret Florence Bernard, affectionately known as Nana, passed away at her home surrounded by family and friends at the young age of 97, in Lawrence, Kansas, on October 31, 2009. Nana was born August 15, 1912, in Fairfield, Iowa, the eldest daughter of Samuel and Mary Louella Templeton Burras. Nana was a lifetime resident of Kansas City until two years ago.

Nana found great comfort & peace in her final days with Ann and her great-granddaughter Katie.

Survivors include her daughter Gail Farrand, grandchildren Shirley Plaisance, Ann Ozorkiewicz, Craig Bernard and wife Kendra, Susan Koenig and husband Mark, daughter-in-law Nancy Bernard Vince, great-grandchildren Wes Plaisance, Bree Ottwell, Kevin, Brian, Philip, & Katie Ozorkiewicz, Emily, Heather, & Stuart Bernard, Tyler, Megan, & Caroline Koenig and great-great grandchildren Tanner & Tamara Plaisance, Ethan & Alyssa Ottwell, her nieces and nephews, Mark, Stephanie, Samir, Carol, Jan, Susie and Ruth, her special friends Dru, Carson, Chamberlain & Hutton Fritzel and Emma King.
