Amy Louise Summers

A memorial service for Amy Louise Summers, 82, formerly of Lawrence, will be at 7 p.m. Friday at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Lawrence. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lawrence.
Mrs. Summers died Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at Tonganoxie Nursing Center. She had been a resident of Lawrence for more than 20 years.
She was born Nov. 10, 1926, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Clarence E. and Irene Walker Miller.
She received her master’s degree in special education from Kansas University. She was devoted to teaching her son Hans. She was retired.
She was a member of The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
She married James Howard Summers. They were divorced.
Other survivors include three sons, Hans-Eric Johann Summers, Lawrence, William Edwards Summers, Vancouver, British Columbia, and Timothy Michael Summers, Albuquerque, N.M.; one brother, Frank E. Diggs, Lawrence; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The family will greet friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
The family suggests memorials to The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, sent in care of the mortuary, 120 W. 13th St., Lawrence, KS 66044.
