Josephine E. Pennington 1915 - 2009 Hannibal, Mo.
Mass of Christian Burial for Josephine E. Pennington, 94, Hannibal, will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Hannibal, with the Rev. Don Antweiler officiating. Burial will be in Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal.
Mrs. Pennington died on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, at Beth Haven Nursing Home in Hannibal.
She was born March 6, 1915, in Hannibal, the daughter of Louis J. and Mary G. Walsh Dopp.
Mrs. Pennington worked as a clerk for the Department of Agriculture. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, the Business and Professional Women’s Club and the Elks Club. Mrs. Pennington enjoyed softball, needlepoint, crafts, fishing and traveling with her husband and other friends. She was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team.
She married Paul Pennington on April 26, 1948, in Hannibal. He died in 1999.
Survivors include a son, Edward J. Pennington, St. Louis; a daughter, Mary Ann Martin and husband Gary, Lawrence, Kan.; two grandchildren, Jason Riner and Andy Pennington; and three great-grandchildren, Drake, MacKenzie and Sydney Riner.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at James O’Donnell Funeral Home, 302 S. Fifth St., Hannibal, MO 63401.
The family suggests memorials to Blessing Hospice, sent in care of the funeral home.
