Jason V. Chronister

A memorial service for Jason V. Chronister, 27, Overland Park, will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Private inurnment will be at a later date.
Mr. Chronister died Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center from injuries suffered in a car/motorcycle accident in Johnson County.
He was born Feb. 27, 1982, in Kansas City, Mo., the son of Dana and Lisa Gish Reed. He was adopted by Dr. Stephen Chronister in 1992.
Mr. Chronister was a former Lawrence resident and graduated from Free State High School in 2000. He earned the Eagle Scout award in 1999.
He was employed as a software engineer with Staples Office Systems in Kansas City. His hobbies included motorcycles, computers, photography, art and cooking.
Mr. Chronister married Caroline Hutson on Sept. 1, 2009, in Overland Park. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include a daughter, Kristiana, Washington state; his mother and stepfather; Lisa Gish Chronister and Doug Kage, Evergreen, Colo.; his father and stepmother, Dana and Bianca Reed, Lawrence; his adoptive father, Dr. Stephen Chronister, Lawrence; a half-brother, Dalen Reed, Lawrence; a half-sister, Taryn Reed, Lawrence; a stepbrother, Justin Jeltz, Lawrence; his paternal grandparents, Larry and Maxine Shaffer, York, Pa., and Donald and Patricia Reed, Red Lion, Pa.; his stepgrandparents, Irvin and Betty Chronister, Kansas City, Mo., and Bea Brien Simpson, Pleasanton.
The family suggests memorials to a charity of the donor’s choice, sent in care of the mortuary, 120 W. 13th St., Lawrence, KS 66044-3402.
