Charles F. Marks Jr. 1953 - 2009 Corpus Christi, Texas
Memorial services for Charles F. “Charlie” Marks Jr., 55, Corpus Christi, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Calvary Chapel of the Coastlands in Corpus Christi, with his son, Christopher, conducting the service.
Mr. Marks died Saturday, May 23, 2009, at his home after a long battle with cancer.
He was born Dec. 8, 1953, in Edmond, Okla., the son of the Rev. C. F. “Freddie” and Winona Marks. He was a 1972 graduate of Lawrence High School.
Mr. Marks received a music degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1977. He was manager of the Carrier/Trane air-conditioning store in Corpus Christi for several years. He also served as music director at several churches in Oklahoma and Texas.
He married Sue Shofner on Dec. 27, 1975, in El Reno, Okla. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include his parents, of Lawrence; a son, Christopher and wife Jennifer, Corpus Christi; a daughter, Carrie Brownell and husband Jonathan, Corvallis, Ore.; two grandsons, Cromwell and Joshua; three brothers, Mark and wife Shanon, Paul and wife Sharon, all of Lawrence, and Teddy and wife Cynthia, Evansville, Ind.; and a sister, Mary Sallee and husband David, Liberty, Mo.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Todd, and an infant daughter, Nicole.
