Robert J. Renyer

Topeka — Memorial services for Robert J. Renyer, 70, Wakarusa, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel in Topeka. Private inurnment will be at a later date.
Mr. Renyer died Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at his home.
He was born May 25, 1938, in Topeka, the son of Louis H. and Irene L. Quaney Renyer.
Mr. Renyer graduated from Berryton High School in 1956. He was employed by Boeing Co., Wichita, prior to serving in the U.S. Army.
He worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for 37 years before retiring in 2000.
Mr. Renyer served as president of the Topeka Auto Racing Boosters, a member of Topeka Quarter Midget Racing Association, a founding board member of the Mid America Quarter Midget Association and a volunteer fireman at the Topeka Fairgrounds.
He married Dee Lafferty on June 20, 1959, in Topeka. She survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Sheila Roberson, Lawrence, and Shawna Mercer; two sons, Randy and Mark; a brother, Butch; a sister, Patty Richards; nine grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
