Sally Asbell

Services for Sally Asbell, 68, Granby, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel in Granby, with the Rev. Fred Franks officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery with family serving as pallbearers.
Ms. Asbell died Sunday, May 17, 2009, at her home in Joplin, following a lengthy illness.
She was born Nov. 6, 1940, in Baxter Springs, Kan., the daughter of Gordon and Amy Robbins White. She was raised in Granby, graduated from Granby High School in 1958 and was a lifelong area resident.
She served in the U.S. Navy and had worked as an LPN and surgical nurse at Freeman Hospital. She retired from Home Health Care.
Survivors include a daughter, Peggy Brake and husband Eddie, Joplin; two sisters, Donna Barnes, Lawrence, Kan., and Jimmie Williams, Granby; a grandson, Tyler Brake; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Howard White; and a nephew, Kenny Schultz.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. today.
