Sophie I. Johanning Beaman 1915 - 2009 Lawrence
Funeral services for Sophie I. Johanning Beaman, 93, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Central United Methodist Church in Lawrence. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Beaman died Saturday, May 16, 2009, at Brandon Woods at Alvamar.
She was born June 3, 1915, in Baldwin City, the daughter of John William and Isabell A. Wrede Johanning.
Mrs. Beaman was a clerk at the Landis Davis Paint Store in Lawrence, retiring in 1972. She was a member of the Central United Methodist Church and also a member of the Social Circle Club since 1937.
She married Clarence W. Beaman on March 14, 1937, in Baldwin City. He preceded her in death Jan. 16, 1996.
Survivors include two sons, LeRoy L. and wife Dwan, Lawrence, and Ronald D. and wife Kay, Leavenworth.
The family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until the service time Thursday at the church.
The family suggests memorials to Hospice Care of Kansas or to the Lawrence Humane Society, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.
