Brandon M. White

Memorial services for Brandon M. White, 29, Lawrence, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Heartland Community Church.
Mr. White died Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at Kansas University Medical Center.
He was born July 30, 1979, in St. Joseph, Mo., the son of Michael Roy and Angela Marie Felling White.
Mr. White graduated from Lawrence High School in 1997, where he was a member of the baseball team and the marching band. He also was a member of the American Legion Baseball Team.
He attended Emporia State University, KU and Johnson County Community College. He graduated from seminary in Kansas City in 2004.
He worked as a counselor for Camp Barnabas in southern Missouri during the summers. He served as an associate pastor at Heartland Community Church for many years, where he led youth groups on missionary trips to many American Indian reservations in the western United States.
He married Jody Gray on June 9, 2001, in Lawrence. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include a son; his father, Michael White, Gardner; his mother, Ange White, Eudora; three brothers, Zachary, Columbus, Ohio, Christopher, Miki, Japan, and Justin, Lawrence; maternal grandfather, Eugene Felling, Platte City, Mo.; paternal grandfather, Merlin White and wife Shirley, St. Joseph, Mo.; and paternal grandmother, Jean Aeschliman and husband Ken, Hiawatha.
The family will meet friends from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Friday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
The family suggests memorials to the Brandon M. White Cancer Fund, to support his son’s educational fund.
