Hermann Martin 1926 - 2009 Lawrence
Memorial services for Hermann Martin, 83, Lawrence, will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Lawrence.
Mr. Martin died Sunday, May 3, 2009, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
He was born April 15, 1926, in Ippinghausen, Germany, the son of Wilhelm and Marie Hilgenberg Martin.
Mr. Martin served in the Army in Germany.
He had been a resident of Lawrence for several years and was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
He married Alfreda Blok on Nov. 30, 1957, in Ippinghausen, Germany. They celebrated 51 years together. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include a son, Herbert, Duvall, Wash.; three daughters, Ruth Dease-Smith, Bronx, N.Y., Heidi Lewis, Lawrence, and Eva Vera Miller, Kassel, Germany; a sister, Brunhilde Butterwegge, Punta Gorda, Fla.; and eight grandchildren.
Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
