Lula Jennings Trowbridge

Graveside services for Lula Margaret Jennings Trowbridge, 92, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Sutton Cemetery in Baldwin City.
Mrs. Trowbridge died Saturday, April 25, 2009, at Seneca House in Seneca, Mo.
She was born Jan. 16, 1917, in Lawrence. She lived in the Lawrence and Baldwin City area for 85 years before moving to southern Missouri.
Mrs. Trowbridge worked in several stores in the Lawrence area including Duckwalls, Montgomery Wards, House of Fabrics and Terrill’s. In 1969 she began working at the Kansas University Theater Department, managing the costume shop for theater productions. She continued in this position until her retirement in 1982.
She married Earl Dennis Trowbridge on May 6, 1933, in Lawrence. They shared 50 years of marriage. He preceded her in death.
She also was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary Ann, and a son, Lee Earl.
Survivors include three sons, Ray, Desert Hot Springs, Calif., David, rural Neosho, Mo., and Roy, rural Seneca, Mo.; a brother, Archie Jennings, Seymour, Mo.; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
