Jean Brant

Springfield, Ore. — A memorial service for Jean Brant, 82, Springfield, will be at 11 a.m. today at Trinity Baptist Church, in Springfield. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
Mrs. Brant died Wednesday, March 25, 2009.
She was born Oct. 20, 1926, in El Dorado, Kan., the daughter of Harold and Eunice McGrew Van Houton.
Mrs. Brant worked for McKenzie River Nursery from 1977 to 1999, Herrick Farms from 1989 to 1999 and Weyerhaeuser from 1972 to 1975, all in the Springfield area. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution Betty Washington Chapter and the Daughters of the American Colonists Margaret Dunning Chapter.
She married Bill Brant on June 15, 1943, in Victoria, Texas. He died Nov. 30, 2000. A son, Harold “Ed,” also preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Robert, Stayton; a daughter, Catherine Chesebro, Rockaway Beach; a sister, Joann Lewis, Lawrence, Kan.; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Andreason’s Cremation & Burial Service in Springfield, is handling arrangements.
