Chris Michael Wadkins 1977 - 2009 Topeka
Mass of Christian Burial for Chris Michael Wadkins, 31, Topeka, will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Topeka. Burial will follow at Half Day Cemetery.
Mr. Wadkins died Tuesday, March 24, 2009, as a result of injuries he and his brother, Greg, suffered in an automobile accident.
He was born April 14, 1977, in Topeka, the son of Ray L. and Pat J. Friday Wadkins. He graduated from Seaman High School in 1995.
He was employed as an electrician with International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local No. 226.
Mr. Wadkins enjoyed family, riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and spending time with friends.
Survivors include his parents; a sister, Jennifer Wadkins; a nephew, Jack Alan Wadkins; his maternal grandmother, Betty Friday; and his paternal grandfather, Bob Long, all of Topeka.
He was preceded in death by a grandmother, Wilma Long; and a grandfather, John Friday.
Friends may call from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel in Topeka. The family will meet friends from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the church, where a rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. Sunday.
The family suggests memorials to the Chris Wadkins Memorial Fund, sent in care of Capital City Bank, 2040 N.W. Topeka Blvd., Topeka, KS 66608.
A benefit in honor of Chris and Greg Wadkins will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at The Office, Eighth and Jackson streets, Topeka.
