Michelle Renée Palmer 1973 - 2009 Lawrence
Funeral services for Michelle Renée Evans Palmer, 35, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Lawrence Free Methodist Church. Inurnment will be at a later date in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Palmer died Friday, March 20, 2009, at her home.
She was born Nov. 17, 1973, in Topeka, the daughter of Fred and Linda Karnes Evans. She graduated from Lawrence High School in 1990.
Mrs. Palmer attended Central Bible College in Springfield, Mo. She earned a medical technologist degree and became a certified nurse’s aide, both in Springfield. While attending college in Missouri, she sang and did comedy in the Branson area. Mrs. Palmer also earned certification in massage therapy from the Pinnacle Career Institute in Lawrence. She was a certified massage therapist, a homemaker and a member of the Mustard Seed Fellowship in Lawrence.
She married Francis Palmer in 2003, in Dakar, Senegal, in western Africa. He survives, of the home.
Other survivors include a son, Storm Josiah Palmer, of the home; her father and stepmother, Fred and Sheila Evans, Lexington, Neb.; her mother and stepfather, Linda and J.R. Condra, Lawrence; two brothers, Sean Evans and Coleman Evans, both of Lexington, Neb.; maternal grandmothers Betty Karnes and Marjory Evans, both of Topeka; and paternal grandfather, Fil Evans, Grove, Okla.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Tasmin Moriah Palmer, in 2006.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time at the church Thursday.
The family suggests memorials in her name to the Michelle R. Palmer Memorial Fund, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.
