Lincoln H. Johnson

Graveside services for Lincoln H. Johnson, 93, Lawrence, will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Maple Grove Cemetery in North Lawrence.
Mr. Johnson died Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
He was born Nov. 24, 1915, in Lawrence, the son of Abe Lincoln and Pearl Slaughter Johnson. He graduated from Liberty Memorial High School.
Mr. Johnson served in the U.S. Army in the European theater and was an airplane mechanic during World War II. He attended Kansas University.
He worked in construction for many years and at the Hercules Ammunition Plant. He worked for Huxtable & Associates for 30 years before retiring.
Mr. Johnson was a member of the Church of God in Christ and Disabled American Veterans.
He married Vie Farmer. She died July 4, 2000.
Survivors include a daughter, Renae Johnson, and a son, Estell, both of Lawrence.
The family will meet friends from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
The family suggests memorials to the Lawrence Humane Society, sent in care of the mortuary.
