Harry Bond Puckett

Graveside services for Harry Bond Puckett, 87, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Puckett died Sunday, March 8, 2009, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
He was born Oct. 2, 1921, in Lawrence, the son of Leroy Edwin and Ruth Maude Bond Puckett.
He served his country during World War II in the Army Air Corps. He was a bomber pilot and flew B-24s in the European Theater. He owned and operated Puckett Construction Company for a number of years. He later worked for ECKAN, the East Central Kansas Economic Opportunity Corporation, until he retired. He enjoyed his Friday night poker games.
He married Clara Mae Cole on Aug. 7, 1976, in Hastings, Neb. She preceded him in death on April 9, 2004.
Mr. Puckett was also preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Teresa Whitaker, and a brother, Kenneth.
Survivors include a daughter, Cheryl Mooney and husband Ken, of Lawrence; two stepdaughters, Dee Dee Commons and husband Ron, and Clarice Patchen and husband Tom, all of Baldwin City; a stepson, Daryl Richardson, Lawrence; one brother, Wayne Puckett, Lake Havasu, Ariz.; three grandchildren, Dana Robson, Michelle Lown and Shane Whitaker; five stepgrandchildren, David Patchen, Jason Patchen, Chad Commons, Ryan Richardson and Mark Coffman; four great-grandchildren; 11 stepgreat-grandchildren; and one great-great- grandchild.
The family will greet friends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
The family suggests memorials to a charity of the donor’s choice, sent in care of the mortuary.
