Chester Junior Williams 1924 - 2009 Eudora
Funeral services for Chester Junior Williams, 84, Eudora, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Eudora City Cemetery.
Mr. Williams died Thursday, March 5, 2009, at Medicalodges of Eudora.
He was born April 20, 1924, in Ozark, Ark., the son of Charley Francis and Martha Stiles Williams. He attended school in Ozark.
Mr. Williams worked in the Facilities Operations Department at Kansas University, and retired in 1989 after 32 years of service. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and enjoyed playing the guitar. He was an avid fan of Kansas University athletics and the Kansas City Royals.
He married Ellen Erma Cannon on Sept. 5, 1949, in Ozark. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include a son, Ron, Eudora; three grandchildren, Trina Goss, Amanda Baldwin and Andrew Williams; and three great-grandchildren, Samuel, Lillyana and Emma.
Friend may call from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, where the family will receive them from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
The family suggests memorials to the Medicalodges of Eudora Activity Fund, sent in care of the funeral home.
