Teresa Margaret Windheuser

A memorial service for Teresa Margaret Windheuser, Lawrence, will be from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the Lawrence Bible Chapel.
Mrs. Windheuser died Monday, March 30, 2009, following a stroke at the Windsor of Lawrence.
She was born April 11, 1928, in Newark, N.J., the daughter of Edward B. and Amela Sarles. She was a longtime Lawrence resident and had lived at the Windsor since September 2008.
She attended Irvington High School and LaSalle College. She lived in Wisconsin and California with her husband before moving to Lawrence in 1974 when he joined Interex Research. From 1980 to 1985, they lived near Munich, Germany.
She married John J. Windheuser in 1951. He preceded her in death in 1985.
Following her husband’s death, Mrs. Windheuser returned to Lawrence and pursued a “second career” as a volunteer wardrobe mistress at the Lawrence Community Theatre, where she designed and constructed costumes. She also enjoyed traveling, music and art.
Survivors include four children, Christine Windheuser, Ruth Beebe, John E. Windheuser and Michael Windheuser; and eight grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the Lawrence Community Theatre.
