Woodrow V. Ashley 1937 - 2009 Pass Christian, Miss.

A memorial service for Woody “Pet” Ashley, 72, Pass Christian, Miss., will be at 2 p.m. today at Faith Church of the Nazarene, with the Rev. Micki Bratton officiating. He donated his remains to the Parker College of Chiropractic.
Mr. Ashley died Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at his home.
He was born April 5, 1937, the son of Thomas N. and Alice Guillotte Ashley.
Mr. Ashley moved to California and joined the U.S. Army. He was a master craftsman.
Mr. Ashley enjoyed fishing, cooking for others, gardening, spending time with family and friends, Gospel music and hearing the Word.
He married Dr. Deronda “D.D.” Ashley. She survives.
Other survivors include five daughters, Charlene Gage, Sacramento, Calif., Stacey Scruggs and husband Keith and Wanda Kornegay and husband Anthony, all of Fresno, Calif., Kim Atkins and husband Kenneth, Richmond, Va., and Dawn D. Stewart, Lawrence; a son, Nathan A. Liska and wife Lori, Lawrence; two daughters-in-law, Elena T. Ashley, Pittsburg, Calif., and Adrianne Brouhard, Lawrence; 22 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Vincent R. Ashley and G. Dean Liska, and a daughter, Robin C. Liska.
