Stanley Eugene Wellman

Funeral Services for Stanley Eugene Wellman, 67, Meriden, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Meriden United Methodist Church. Burial with military honors will be at Meriden Cemetery.
Mr. Wellman died Saturday, June 13, 2009, at his home.
He was born Aug. 9, 1941, in Topeka, the son of Homer Dan and Lucy Arlene Brabb Wellman. He was a 1959 graduate of Silver Lake High School and had lived in Meriden since 1970.
Mr. Wellman was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving from 1959 to 1963, including during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
He was a production worker at the DuPont-Flexel-UCB plant in Tecumseh for more than 40 years, retiring in 2004. He also served as a part-time rural mail carrier for the Meriden post office for five years.
He married Sharon Rae Anspaugh on Dec. 30, 1962, in Meriden. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Jay, Meriden, and Jeffrey, Topeka; one sister, Wilma Flach, Sacramento, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
The family will meet friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Meriden United Methodist Church.
