Harold Leroy Miller

Memorial services for Harold Leroy Miller, 79, Lawrence, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Military Honors conducted by American Legion Dorsey-Liberty Post 14 will follow the service.
Mr. Miller died Monday, June 8, 2009, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
He was born June 11, 1929, in Horton, the son of Joseph and Goldie Weeks Miller.
Mr. Miller served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked at Whiting Cheese Factory in Horton, and at Stokely-Van Kamp in Lawrence. He also had worked at the Jayhawk Box Factory in Lawrence and as a baler operator at the Lawrence Paper Company for 35 years. He retired in 1998.
Survivors include a son, Ricky, Lawrence; two daughters, Penny Miller and Wendy Lindberg, both of Lawrence; a stepdaughter, Theresa Peter, Topeka; a stepson, Marvin Gibbs, Lawrence; 13 grandchildren, including Tracey Cook, Lawrence; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family suggests memorials to American Legion Dorsey-Liberty Post 14, sent in care of the mortuary.
