Ruthanna M. Keimig 1919 - 2009 Lancaster
Mass of Christian Burial for Ruthanna M. Keimig, 89, Lancaster, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Benedict’s Church in Atchison. Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Mrs. Keimig died Friday, June 5, 2009, at the Atchison Medicalodge nursing center.
She was born June 7, 1919, on the family farm north of Huron, the daughter of Joseph H. and Rose Libel Falk. She attended school at St. Mary’s in Purcell and high school at Huron.
Mrs. Keimig was a homemaker. She was also employed at Horton Garment Company in Atchison, and later served as a cook for Shannon Grade School west of Atchison and Atchison County Community High School in Effingham.
She was a member of St. Benedict’s Church and its Altar Society, the Birthday Club and Lancaster Card Club.
She married Joseph W. Keimig on Jan. 5, 1942, in Purcell. He preceded her in death Aug. 29, 1997.
Survivors include two daughters, Joanne Eckert, Lawrence, and Helen Millenbruch, Lancaster; a son, Joseph Keimig, Atchison; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A parish rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in the chapel of Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home, after which the family will meet friends until 8:30 p.m.
The family suggests memorials to Abundant Life Hospice or St. Benedict’s Church, sent in care of the funeral home, 208 N. Fifth St., Atchison, KS 66002.
