Joan R. Frost 1932 - 2009 Farmington, Maine
A memorial service will be planned later for Joan R. Frost, 76, Farmington.
Mrs. Frost died Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at Franklin Memorial Hospital, of cancer.
She was born Aug. 24, 1932, in Port Chester, N.Y., the daughter of Frederick and L. Alice Ruckstuhl Richter.
Mrs. Frost was a self-taught artist. She made her home in Rangeley, where she owned and operated the Rangeley Rooster and The Rangeley Region Sport Shop and Frost Country with her husband.
She married Richard Frost on Sept. 5, 1953, in Stamford, Conn. He preceded her in death in 2005.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas Frost and Colby Frost, both of Rangeley; a sister, Ruth Sleeper, Lawrence, Kan.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
