Charles D. Foster

Meriden — Funeral services for Charles D. “Corky” Foster, 80, of Topeka, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Barnett-Chapel Oaks Meriden Chapel. Burial with American Legion Honors will be at Meriden Cemetery.
Mr. Foster, formerly of Meriden, died Monday, July 27, 2009, at Midland Hospice in Topeka.
He was born Sept. 26, 1928, in Topeka, the son of Earl Ferron and Mabel Johnson Foster. He was a graduate of Topeka High School.
Mr. Foster was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, serving on the USS Silverstein.
He worked for the DuPont Company in Tecumseh in the casting and finishing departments, retiring after 27 years.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge of Topeka, and was a life member of American Legion Post 400 in Topeka and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10815 in Meriden.
He married Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Foster on Oct. 17, 1954, in Junction City. She preceded him in death on Sept. 18, 2008.
Survivors include two sons, Larry D., Meriden, and Ronald D., Topeka; one daughter, Sandy Foster, Topeka; one sister, Greeta Reeves, Topeka; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral chapel, 101 W. Wyandotte, Meriden. The family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until the service on Friday at the chapel.
