Roy David Daniels 1920 - 2009 McLouth
Graveside services for Roy David Daniels, 89, of McLouth, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the McLouth Cemetery.
Mr. Daniels died Thursday, July 2, 2009, at the Senior Living Center in Winchester.
He was born May 15, 1920 at Kellerton, Iowa, the son of David George and Lotta Donahue Daniels. He had lived in McLouth since 1966.
Mr. Daniels worked as a correctional officer for the U.S. Federal Bureau of Prisons at the Leavenworth Federal Penitentiary, retiring on June 1, 1981, after 20 years service. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II, serving from 1938 to 1945, earning 13 Battle Stars and Campaign Ribbons.
He married Mary Louise Potter on June 28, 1958, at Mount Ayre, Iowa. She survives at the Senior Living Center.
Other survivors include a son, John David Daniels, McLouth.
Mr. Daniels was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Lou Daniels, on April 18, 2000.
