Pratt — Funeral services for Elva “Babe” Cook, 87, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Larrison Mortuary in Pratt. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Driftwood Cemetery in Driftwood, Okla.Mrs. Cook died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009, at Brandon Woods South in Lawrence.She was born Feb. 9, 1921, in Burlington, Okla., the daughter of Frank and Minnie Stuckey Hamilton.Mrs. Cook had lived in Lawrence for the past year after moving from Pratt.She was a bookkeeper for 23 years with the Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services. She was retired.She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Pilot Club, Pratt Women’s Bowling Association and was a Lady Elk, all in Pratt.She married Cyril “Cy” Cook on Jan. 2, 1942, in San Diego. He preceded her in death on Jan. 5, 2008. She also was preceded in death by a grandson, Gary Cook.Survivors include a son, J.C., Louisville, Colo.; a daughter, Janet Crabill, Lawrence; a sister, June Daughhetee, Pratt; a brother, Mervin Hamilton, Oxford; and a granddaughter.Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary.The family suggest memorials to Hospice Care of Kansas or KETCH, sent in care of the mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt, KS 67124.Condolences may be sent at larrisonmortuary.com.
