Robert Gene Whitehouse 1932 - 2009 Tonganoxie
Memorial services for Robert Gene Whitehouse, 76, Tonganoxie, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie.Mr. Whitehouse died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009, at his home.He was born Feb. 16, 1932, in Chillicothe, Ohio, the son of Brown H. and Marie L. Herholtz Whitehouse.He served in the Korean War with the US Air Force. Mr. Whitehouse retired as a senior lieutenant for the U.S. Federal Correctional Institution in Sandstone, Minn. He was a member of the Community Christian Church and Masonic Lodge in Sandstone and the American Legion post in Hardy, Ark.He married Peggy Evans on Nov. 23, 1955, in Portsmouth, Ohio. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include a son, Robert M., Ozawkie; a daughter, Teri Jane Povenmire, Kansas City; a brother, Brown H. Jr., Raleigh, N.C.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
