Guy Isaac Akers Lawrence
Funeral services for Dr. Guy Isaac Akers, 88, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church in Fort Scott. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Scott with military honors provided by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Olson, Frary, Burkhart Post 1165 Memorial Detail. Dr. Akers passed away Friday, Jan. 16, 2009, at the Brandon Woods Health Center. The family suggests memorials to the First United Methodist Church, Fort Scott Community College or Fort Scott Mercy Health Center, sent in care of Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, 15 W. Wall Street, P.O. Box 309, Fort Scott, KS 66701.
