Cora Marie McClanahan 1933 - 2009
Memorial services for Cora Marie McClanahan, 75, will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Ms. McClanahan died Friday, Jan. 16, 2009, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. She was born March 25, 1933 in Moro, Ark., the daughter of Othal and Nellie St. John McRoy. She retired from the Naismith Center as a cook. She enjoyed spending time with family, visiting with friends, weekly outings with her daughter, Marcia, reading and watching poker on television. She is survived by a son, Mel McClanahan, Lawrence; a daughter, Marcia Weidenbach and her fiancé, Allan Umscheid, Lawrence; two sisters, Robbie Wisdom, Eudora, and Mavis Boorem, Clinton, Ark.; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Noah Putman, and four sisters, Lucille McRoy, Eloise McRoy, Sammy Holiday and Mary Cripe. Online condolences may be sent at rumsey-yost.com
