Ruth Hill Fugitt 1923 - 2009 Oklahoma City
Oklahoma City — Services for Ruth Hill Fugitt, 85, Oklahoma City, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Calvin Presbyterian Church in Oklahoma City.Mrs. Fugitt died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009, at her home.She was born Oct. 5, 1923, in Rancagua, Chile, the daughter of Fred H. and Creta M. Hill. She graduated from Liberty Memorial High School in Lawrence.She was instrumental in the founding of Mobile Meals of Oklahoma County in 1971 and continued to participate in the meals program until just days before her death. Mrs. Fugitt was a member of Calvin Presbyterian Church, where she was an elder and active member of Presbyterian Women. She was a longtime member of P.E.O. Sisterhood, Chapter BF.She married LeRoy B. Fugitt Jr. He preceded her in death.She also was preceded in death by her parents; a son, James G. Fugitt; a brother, Harry W. Hill; and a sister, Mary L. Roberts.Survivors include two sons, LeRoy B. Fugitt III and wife Shirleen, Pierre, S.D., and Andy Fugitt and wife Teresa, Edmond, Okla.; a daughter, Susan Rozelle, Oklahoma City; a sister, Winifred Gallup and husband Alfred, Lawrence; 12 grandchildren, Jane, Jeff, Jill, Patty, Jason, Austin and Duncan Fugitt, Sherry Sullivan, Sarah Kempke, Joel Morris, Emily Jarboe and Abby Dickey; 14 great-grandchildren; a cousin, Mary Lee Austin and husband Jim, Oklahoma City; and many nieces and nephews.The family will meet friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at the church.The family requests memorials to Mobile Meals of Oklahoma County, 6051 N.
