Kansas City, Kan. — Funeral services for Gertrude Margaret Gilbertson, 90, Gladstone, Mo., will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home in Kansas City, Kan. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.Mrs. Gilbertson died Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009, at St. Luke’s Northland Hospital. She was born Aug. 16, 1918, in Leavenworth, the daughter of Raymond Isaac and Mary Margaret Martin Ruebelt. Mrs. Gilbertson and her husband lived in Kansas City, Kan., for 33 years while raising their children. They also lived in Lawrence for 13 years. They retired and lived in Sun City, Ariz., for 10 years.She married Thomas Sherman Gilbertson Sr. He survives.Other survivors include three sons, Thomas Jr., John and wife Patricia, and Ray and wife Liz; one daughter, Katherine Nichols and husband Les; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to. 11 a.m. Wednesday prior to the service. The family suggest contributions to The Salvation Army, P.O. Box 412577, Kansas City, MO 64141.
