M. Ruth Sigman 1915 - 2009 De Soto
Basehor — Funeral services for M. Ruth Sigman, 93, De Soto, will be 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Basehor. Burial will follow in Holy Angels Cemetery.Mrs. Sigman died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center.She was born March 22, 1915, in Leavenworth County, the daughter of Michael and Mary Wenzel Kelly. Mrs. Sigman was a beautician for 73 years and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Shawnee.She married Jack Emmett Sigman on July 19, 1941. He preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 1974. Survivors include a son, John Sigman and wife Sharon, Shawnee; a daughter, Kathleen Garvin and husband Larry, Kennewick, Wash.; a sister, Cecilia McDermott, Shawnee; three grandchildren, Shawn Sigman, Cynthia Sigman and David Anderson; and two great-granddaughters, Katie and Breanna Sigman.The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church.The family suggests memorials to Children’s Mercy Hospital or to the American Diabetes Association, sent in care of Quisenberry Funeral Home, P.O.
