Billie R. “Bill” Roach

Funeral services for Billie R. “Bill” Roach, 70, of Meriden, will be at 5 p.m. Friday at Jefferson Assembly of God Church in Meriden.
Mr. Roach died Monday, Feb. 23, 2009, at his home in Meriden.
He was born Sept. 23, 1938, in McClain, Okla., the son of Robert Ezra and Alva Fay Miller Roach. He graduated in 1956 from Argentine High School in Kansas City, Kan. He had lived in Meriden since 1972.
He had worked as a machinist for the Rock Island Railroad for 24 years before his retirement, working from apprentice to machinist journeyman. He was a cook at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10815 in Meriden for many years.
He was a member of the Jefferson Assembly of God Church.
Mr. Roach had been married twice.
Survivors include four daughters, Kim Kimmons, Kansas City, Kan., Shannon Ricley, Meriden, Dawn Kennedy, Valley Falls, and Rochelle Rickner, Topeka; a brother, Roy Wayne, Burlington; three sisters, Sharon Angel and Peggy Harris, both of Kansas City, Kan., and Etha Campainha, Melbourne, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Rhonda Stilley, preceded him in death.
The family will meet friends from 4 p.m. until the service hour Friday at the church. Cremation will follow.
