Betty L. Holder

Graveside service for Betty L. Holder, 78, rural Baldwin City, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Clinton Cemetery in Clinton.
Mrs. Holder died Monday, Feb. 23, 2009, at Medicalodges Eudora.
She was born Dec. 8, 1930, in Edna, the daughter of Lee and Cora May Merrell Merchant.
Mrs. Holder worked at Chuckwagon Restaurant, Don’s Steak House, Kroger’s, as a dietary manager at Presbyterian Manor and at many area nursing homes. She retired from Goodwill in 2004.
She married George H. Holder. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include three sons, Richard Holder, Lawrence, and Randy J. Holder and Matthew Holder, both of Baldwin City; a daughter, Carla Elfarihi, Lawrence; three brothers, Joe Merchant, Independence, Walter Merchant, Coffeyville, and Danny Merchant, Edna; a sister, Ann Coughron, Terrell, Texas; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Holder, in May of 1968.
