Ramon H. Villarruel

Services for Ramon H. Villarruel, 87, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Oak Hill Cemetery.Mr. Villarruel died Friday, Feb. 20, 2009, at Medicalodges of Eudora.He was born March 8, 1921, in Mantua, Cuba, the son of Manuel and Lucia Hernandez Villarruel. He spent more than 30 years in North Hollywood, Calif., before moving to Lawrence five years ago.Mr. Villarruel was head union steward of a Sheraton hotel.His wife, Catalina, preceded him in death.Survivors include two daughters, Lixel Barnhill, Lawrence, and Minerva Villarruel, Lawrence; eight grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.Online condolences may be sent at rumsey-yost.com.
