James E. “Jim” Clark 1961 - 2009
Funeral services for James E. “Jim” Clark, 47, Lawrence, will be 10 a.m. Friday at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.Mr. Clark died Monday, Feb. 16, 2009, at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis after a brief illness.He was born Aug. 3, 1961, in Salina, the son of Robert Burke and Teresa Ann Hogan Clark. He graduated from Salina Central High School in 1979 and later earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and business administration from Marymount College of Kansas in Salina in 1983.After graduation, he worked as a financial examiner for the State of Kansas Banking Department. He later worked at several area banks, including 14 years with Douglas County Bank in Lawrence. He was most recently employed as executive vice president at Farley State Bank, Farley, Mo. He enjoyed watching baseball, golf and basketball — especially the Kansas Jayhawks. He also supported the Lawrence Aquahawks swim team.He married Linda Ann Wall on Nov. 15, 1986, in Topeka. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include two daughters, Sarah Ann Clark and Heather Lynn Clark, both of the home; a brother, Michael and wife Carol, Jefferson City, Mo.; two sisters, Teresa Shaffer and husband Doug, Highlands Ranch, Colo., and Judith Weinzirl and husband Waden, St. Charles, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edmond J. and Arlone Hogan, and James V. and Mabel Clark.Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. Thursday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, where the family will receive them from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.Suggested memorial contributions will be designated at a later date.Online condolences may be sent at <a href="http://rumsey-yost.com">rumsey-yost.com</a>.
