Jonah Jarome Tate

Funeral services for Jonah Jarome Tate, 29, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Inurnment will take place at 11 a.m. Friday at Oak Hill Cemetery.Mr. Tate died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009, in Lawrence.He was born July 27, 1979, in Ottawa, the son of Sallie Kay Strickland and Lawrence Douglas Tate. He was a tanker for the National Guard. Survivors include his mother, Sallie, Blanco, Texas; his father and wife Linda, Lawrence; a twin brother, Jeremy Tate, Lawrence, and brother Jamie Drake, Ottawa; three sisters, Amber Austin and husband Joey, Spring Branch, Texas, Jessie Drake, Lawrence, and Ali and husband Corey Morin, Wellsville; his fraternal grandparents John and Edna Ray, Wyoming; Katherine Stewart, Ottawa; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and two beloved dogs, Xander and Macy. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Clarence and Eunice Strickland, and an uncle, Raymond Tate.
