Wilma Terry 1918 - 2009 Lawrence
Memorial services for Wilma Terry, 90, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Trinity Episcopal Church. Private graveside services will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.Mrs. Terry died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009, at her home.She was born June 17, 1918, in Queen City, Mo., the daughter of Charles Edward and Kitty Charlotte Vittitoe Peebles.Mrs. Terry moved to Lawrence in 1970 from Hawaii. She was a homemaker.She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, P.E.O. Sisterhood Chapter HZ, University Women’s Club and Zodiac.She married James Kyle Terry on March 18, 1940, in Kirksville, Mo. He died March 27, 1995.Survivors include two daughters, Martha Fairchild and husband Robert and the Rev. Susan Terry, all of Lawrence; and nine grandchildren, Catherine Amy Elizabeth Hackett, Robert James Hackett, Meredith Terry Hackett, Chad Stephen Ellis, Carrie Elizabeth Ellis, Jared Kyle Ellis, Christopher C. Fairchild, Matthew W. Fairchild and Andrew R. Fairchild.The family will meet friends following services at the church.The family suggests memorials to the church, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.Online condolences may be sent at warrenmcelwain .com, subject: Terry.
