Funeral service for Theresa A. “Terry” Ward, 60, Baldwin City, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Christian Church, Lawrence. Burial will follow at Welda Cemetery, Welda. Mrs. Ward died Monday, Feb. 9, 2009, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.She was born May 21, 1948, in Ottawa, the daughter of Thomas and Ruby Hiestand Ensley.Mrs. Ward was a former employee of Hallmark Cards, and she drove a bus for the Lawrence school district and worked for A-1 Taxi. She later started her own business, Superior Shuttle Service.She was a homemaker, devoted mother, and a member of the First Christian Church. In the church, she had taught Sunday school. She was also a former Girl Scout leader and had started a support group for myasthenia gravis.She married Gary Howe. They later divorced. She then married Gary L. Ward on March 4, 1995, in Lawrence. He survives, of the home.Other survivors include her father, Colony; three daughters, Amy Gaines and husband John, Des Moines, Iowa, Julie Hoffer and husband, Rod, Lawrence, and Lisa Rundell and husband Hugh, Lawrence; three stepdaughters, Kristi Baldwin, Topeka, and Cora Martin and Angela Robb, both of Baldwin City; two sisters, Rosa Blattner, Rozel, and Tamera Sanchez, Colony; and six grandchildren, Riley, Ruby, Hannah, Hope, Hunter and Orion. She was preceded in death by her mother and three brothers.The family will greet friends from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.The family suggests memorial contributions to Myasthenia Gravis Association or First Christian Church Children’s Ministry, sent in care of the mortuary.
