Irene Kampschroeder Eden 1914 - 2009 Lawrence
Memorial services for Irene Kampschroeder Eden, 94, Lawrence, will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church. Burial will precede the service at 2 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Topeka.Mrs. Eden died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009, at Lawrence Presbyterian Manor.She was born Oct. 2, 1914, in Keene, the daughter of Steven and Grace Myers Wright. She graduated from Maple Hill High School.Mrs. Eden was a homemaker. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where she served as a deacon and volunteered in the church office for 20 years. She was a member of the Topeka Travel Club, and volunteered at Penn House and Lawrence Interdenominational Nutrition Kitchen. She was a seamstress.She married Olin A. Kampschroeder on Jan. 1, 1937, in Leona. He died Nov. 10, 1975. She married James Donald Eden on Mar. 25, 1984. He died in 1987.Survivors include a son, Vaun Kampschroeder and wife Sydnie, Lawrence; a daughter, Vici Reeves and husband Mike, Overland Park; five grandchildren, Darci Falin, Brad Kampschroeder, Lori Soderling, Chris Reeves, and Kelly Uhlenhopp; and six great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, three sisters and a nephew.Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.The family suggests memorials to Heart of America Hospice or the Good Samaritan Fund at Lawrence Presbyterian Manor, sent in care of the funeral home.Online condolences may be sent at rumsey-yost.com.
