Norma Jean Kurtz 1932 - 2009 Eudora

Norma Jean Kurtz

Graveside services for Norma Jean Kurtz, 76, Eudora, will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Memorial Park Cemetery in Lawrence.Mrs. Kurtz died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.She was born Aug. 31, 1932, in Linwood, the daughter of Jessie Earl and Myrtle Gladys Hubbard Pritchard. She was a lifelong resident of Douglas County and moved to Eudora in 1948.Mrs. Kurtz was a homemaker and had worked for 10 years at Hallmark Cards in Lawrence, Annabelle’s in Eudora and for several years at the Eudora Nursing Home. She attended St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Eudora.She married Carl V. Kurtz on Aug. 17, 1948, in Ottawa. He died Dec. 17, 2008.Survivors include a daughter, Linda Folks, Eudora; three sons, David, Ottawa, and Dale and Duane, both of Eudora; a brother, Ernie Pritchard, De Soto; a sister, Beverly Parr, Wellsville; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.The family will meet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Warren-McElwain Mortuary’s Eudora Chapel.The family suggests memorials to the American Diabetes Association, sent in care of the mortuary.Online condolences may be sent at warrenmcelwain .com, subject: Kurtz.
