Daniel Bruce Hyskell 1941 - 2009 Lawrence

Memorial services for Daniel Bruce Hyskell, 67, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Cremation is planned.Mr. Hyskell died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009, at his home.He was born May 24, 1941, in Little Blue, Mo., the son of Joseph Sr. and Mildred Alma Fortner Hyskell. He attended school in LaCygne and graduated from Paseo High School in Kansas City, Mo.He served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 12 years during the Vietnam war, during which time he was an air traffic controller.Mr. Hyskell was a machinist for McDonnell-Douglas and later attended heating, air conditioning and ventilation trade school. He most recently worked at the J.C. Penney Distribution Center in Lenexa.He married Molly Caroline Barton. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include a son, Vincent S., Virginia Beach, Va.; two daughters, Christy Lynne Werne, Virginia Beach, and Lori Traylor, Fredericksburg, Va.; two brothers, the Rev. Dr. Joseph F. Jr., Elizabethtown, Tenn., and Charles O., Greeley, Colo.; two sisters, Carol Raines and Chiquita Hunnicutt, both of Raymore, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.The family will meet friends following the service.The family suggests memorials to the Daniel Hyskell Memorial Fund, sent in care of the funeral home.Online condolences may be sent at rumsey-yost.com.
