Larry Franklin Morgan 1942 - 2009 La Cygne
A celebration of life for Larry Franklin Morgan, 67, La Cygne, will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at his home, 21766 Taylor Road, La Cygne. He was cremated.
Mr. Morgan died Monday, Dec. 21, 2009, at his home, of cancer.
He was born Nov. 18, 1942, in Iowa Falls, Iowa, the son of Herman and Elenor Duncan Morgan. He attended Erie (Kan.) High School and Labette County Community College.
Mr. Morgan worked in the construction industry as an operator and carpenter. He was a member of the Operators Union and the Carpenters Union.
He married Marilyn Nelson on Nov. 20, 1970. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include his parents, Herman and Elenor Morgan, Lawrence; two sons, Russ Morgan, Mound City; and Ty Aldridge, Olathe; two daughters, Jamie New and Deedra Smith, both of Ottawa; a sister, Sharon Aikins, Lawrence; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a niece; and a nephew.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert, on Aug. 7, 2003.
The family suggests memorials to the Robert Morgan Scholarship Fund or Hospice Care of Kansas, sent in care of Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home, P.O. Box 525, Pleasanton, KS 66075.
